Please allow us to inform you that new certification requirements for WIN 8 requires flash drives to identify as fixed disk.įlash drives identifying as fixed disk show as Hard Drives when viewing them in Windows Explorer (for all Windows OS versions). I understand that you are inquiring why your flash drive shows as a fixed disk instead of removable media. I was told windows has made a change that USB drives are not suppose to show up as USB drives anymore, someone a San Disk:
